  1. Our Work

We Accomplish More Together

Who We Fund

Nurses & Nursing

We fund nursing education by partnering with nursing schools or local hospital pathway programs. We do not provide any direct scholarships or other funding to individuals. More details on the types of initiatives we fund may be found here. Factors considered in identifying partner organizations include, but are not limited to:

  • Net price of education and average debt at graduation
  • Opportunity for sustainable growth
  • Vision/mission alignment
  • Stability of leadership team
  • Accreditation and reputation of program
  • For pre-licensure programs, NCLEX pass rates
Health & Human Services

Grantmaking in the area of health and human services is considered on a case-by-case basis and is limited to organizations working in the Washington, D.C., or Nashua, NH area. Our sister foundation, The Wings of Impact, supports similar organizations in the Chicago area.

Only public charities are considered for funding.

How We Work

We believe in relationship-based philanthropy rooted in building long-term partnerships with our grantees. Before partnering with a new grantee, we spend a significant amount of time getting to know them and their leadership team. It is important to us that our relationship with our grantees be collaborative, and that we deeply understand their needs and strategic vision and how they align with our vision and priorities.

All of our grants are for current use. We believe our grantees are strongest when they have funds to address today’s challenges. To allow our grantees to plan for the future, most of our grants are paid over multiple years, typically four to five years in duration.

We do not accept unsolicited proposals; rather, we identify public charities that may have mission alignment with us and reach out directly to the organization’s leadership to begin a dialogue that may ultimately result in a targeted invitation to submit a proposal. Any organizations invited to submit a proposal will be provided an invitation to our grantee portal to complete and submit the proposal through that portal.

Any public charities in our two funding areas who would like to begin a dialogue with us may email info@bedfordfallsfoundation.org to request a time to speak to one of our team members and we will do our best to accommodate.
